Welcome to our April guide!

This is an all you need to know guide filled with seasonal activity ideas, ways to develop learning at home, storybooks to share and so much more.

Let’s jump straight into our April guide for under 5s.

About April

April is the 4th month of the year and is all about springtime, here, in the Northern Hemisphere! Whereas in the Southern Hemisphere, it’s currently autumn!

With the weather getting steadily warmer, it’s an ideal time to explore nature with your little one.

From gardening to exploring local parks and forests, there are plenty of learning opportunities for your child.

Here are some fun facts about April to share with your little one:

  • April's flowers are the Sweet Pea and Daisy.

  • The month of April was known as Aprillus by the Romans. It means to blossom or open signifying flowers blooming.

  • Smaller animals that hibernate throughout the winter typically emerge from their tunnels this month.
