Toddler outdoors

Welcome to our June guide!

This is an all you need to know guide filled with seasonal activity ideas, ways to develop learning at home, storybooks to share and so much more.

Let’s jump straight into our June guide for under 5s.

About June

We’re now in the 6th month of the year! It’s the second of the four months throughout the year that are 30 days long.

In June, summer officially begins in the northern hemisphere – the summer solstice is on the 20th June (the longest day of the year).

In the Northern Hemisphere however, winter officially begins – the winter solstice is on the 20th June (the shortest day of the year).

June is internationally known as Pride Month and we’re excited to celebrate all families this month!

Fun facts about June

  • June is one of two months that never begins on the same day of the week as any other month of the same year (the other is May).

  • June's flower is the Rose.

  • The name June comes from Roman times and signifies the beginnings of new life.
