March - a seasonal activity guide for under 5s

Toddler outside in spring

Welcome to our March guide!

This is an all you need to know guide filled with seasonal activity ideas, ways to develop learning at home, storybooks to share and so much more.

Let’s jump straight into our March guide for under 5s.

About March

March marks the transition from winter to spring in the Northern Hemisphere and summer to autumn in the Southern Hemisphere.

It’s the perfect time to explore the changing seasons with your little one – allowing them to observe the changes in nature in real-time – from nesting birds, and daffodils sprouting up to warmer, sunnier (we hope!) and longer days.

Here are some fun facts about March to share with your little one:

  • The daffodil, which is the flower of March, represents love!

  • The first month in the Roman calendar was March.

  • March is the month when animals start emerging from their winter slumber all throughout the world.

There are some amazing events happening this month – a great opportunity to teach your child more about the world around them!
